John O'SullivanJohn O'Sullivan founded Westboro Partners in 1983, following a successful accountancy career in PwC. As Managing Partner John has been responsible for strategically developing the Westboro Partners practice, and driving its growth to its current size and scale.

With a background in corporate finance services, and a huge wealth of experience in this area, John continues to work in the area of financial restructuring, corporate takeovers and financial growth strategies for indigenous businesses in the Region.

As well as consultancy, John also has considerable expertise and experience in property investment, particularly internationally, where he has initiated a number of tax efficient investments.

John's integrity and professionalism, as well as his ability to provide insightful and effective financial and business advice continually underpins the ethos and service at Westboro Partners.


Declan Lynch, B.Comm, F.C.A.

Declan LynchA graduate of University College Cork (UCC), Declan Lynch joined Westboro Partners in 1996. Having been a member since 2000, Declan became a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland in 2011.

Specialised in the delivery of services to corporates in the area of audit, group accounting, financial reporting and mergers and acquisitions, Declan has vast experience across a wide range of sectors. This experience has proven highly valuable to his clients, who have benefited enormously from his understanding of public and privately listed companies and their financial requirements.

With significant experience in investments, including property investment, Declan has more recently been involved in successfully restructuring investments, and extensively influencing the legal framework on behalf of clients. Declan's knowledge in the area of private investor memoranda, overseas tax legislation and securities payment agreements ensure that his clients are particularly well served in all aspects of their investments.

A partner since 2006, Declan is a highly professional accountant with strong business acumen and extensive experience in corporate finance having been involved in numerous large scale corporate restructuring exercises, corporate cash extraction schemes and the preparation of business plans for bank funding, joint ventures, grants and mezzanine finance deals.

Since the enactment of the NAMA legislation a large percentage of his time has been focused on planning around the transfer of client loans to NAMA, the preparation of business plans for NAMA and dealing with questions generated by NAMA, the participating institutions and third parties acting on behalf of NAMA such as CBRE.

Declan has also provided advice to his technological and manufacturing client base in relation to R&D tax credits, R&D grants and patents.

Over the last 12 months Declan has secured grant funding of in excess of €5 million for his clients. Having a detailed knowledge of Enterprise Ireland, Enterprise Boards and EU backed grant funding, Declan can assist clients with all aspects of the grant process. This includes identification of suitable grant opportunities, assistance with the application process, preparation of business plans and auditing of grant claims.

Michael MageeA member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland, Michael Magee (F.C.P.A.), joined Westboro Partners in 1985, and is a Partner at the firm since 2001.

With over 25 year's experience as an accountant and business advisor. Michael is currently focusing on the area of corporate recovery and insolvency and is a member of the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners, With his professional qualifications and extensive experience, Michael is well placed to advise clients in the area of voluntary and compulsory liquidations, as well as corporate restructuring and recovery. His knowledge and understanding of this area, as well as his discretion, ensure that his clients benefit from Michael's keen insight and expertise.

Passionate about business and effective financial planning, Michael also provides business advisory services, including taxation planning, financial management , audit and accountancy services. He has been particularly effective to businesses under Revenue investigation, or in dispute with Revenue relating to particular liabilities.

Throughout his career, Michael has always embraced challenging financial situations and continually strives to ensure positive and effective outcomes for his clients. His eye for detail and ability to process intricate financial structures always ensure that his clients requirements and business objectives are met at every stage.

Over the years Michael has also acted for vendors and purchasers in the disposal and acquisition of companies, businesses and their associated assets. These transactions have focused on detailed due diligence and intricate taxation structures to meet the goals of all parties.

Mary PowerMary Power is a Partner at Westboro Partners since 2006, having joined the company in 2000.

A graduate of University College Cork, Mary qualified as an Accountant (ACA) with Chartered Accountants Ireland in 1999, and joined Westboro Partners in 2000. More recently, Mary completed the Diploma in Forensic Accounting with Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Mary is a highly experienced business advisor, working with clients on a range of accountancy services including taxation, financial management, audits, accounting and financial reporting.

As well as accountancy services, Mary is specialised and qualified in the area of Forensic Accounting, and regularly works with clients on legal issues, both personal in the case of family law or loss of earnings, as well as professional in the area of commercial disputes.

Mary has also developed a specialisation in the field of franchises, and has worked with both master franchisers and franchisees on many occasions.

As an excellent communicator and highly efficient accountant, Mary offers clients, both corporates and individuals, practical and proactive financial and business advice that provides effective solutions for financial management.
